FULFILLMENT COURSE WORK

FULFILLMENT COACHING IS ABOUT ALIVENESS. YOU WILL LEARN TO HELP CLIENTS TO LET GO OF PRECONCEIVED RULES AND LIMITATIONS AND TO STEP INTO WHAT TRULY BRINGS THEM ALIVE.

THE CORE SKILL OF FULFILLMENT COACHING IS THE ABILITY TO ACCESS YOUR (AND YOUR CLIENT’S) INNER WISDOM. IN THIS COURSE, YOU WILL DEVELOP A RELATIONSHIP WITH YOUR WISE INTERNAL VOICE AND LEARN TO DISTINGUISH BETWEEN THAT VOICE AND YOUR SABOTEUR.

Please note:  Use of CTI Intellectual Property.  CTI students may use materials presented during their course work, including materials on CTI’s Learning Hub, in their work with their coaching clients only.  Any use of CTI Intellectual Property beyond one-to-one coaching is not allowed without the specific written approval of CTI.

Syllabus

Before your course

Before your course, browse through this website and get familiar with the material. Pay special attention to the areas listed below. The preparation may be done during the course if you will have access to the Learning Hub in the evenings of Day One or Day Two of the course.

Click on the Resources link and review the Business Resources area, also review the Discovery Session Checklist and Discovery Session Template in the Tools area. This is in preparation for creating a rough draft of your own Discovery Session. Please make notes of your questions and any items you may want to include in your rough draft and bring your notes to the course.

If for any reason you are unable to complete the preparation and won’t have access to the Learning Hub in the evenings of Day One or Day Two of the course, please plan to do the reading shortly after course completion.

During your course

Required reading is all contained in the “Co-Active Coaching Fulfillment Learning Guide” which is distributed at the start of the course.

  • VALUES - An explanation of some ways to discover clients’ values.
  • DISCOVERY SESSION TEMPLATE - A graphic in the learning guide, supplemented by online reading
  • https://partners.coactive.com/CTI-learning-hub/intermediate/fulfillment
  • YOUR LEADER WITHIN - An explanation of the concept and qualities of your Leader Within
  • QUESTIONS FOR DISCOVERING YOUR LEADER WITHIN AND ALLIES (sometimes referred to as Captain and Crew)
  • TRANSFORMATIONAL CHANGE VS INCREMENTAL CHANGE - An explanation of the difference
  • GUIDED IMAGING TO MEET YOUR LEADER WITHIN (OR CAPTAIN)
  • LIFE PURPOSE GUIDED INNER JOURNEYS.

ADDITIONAL OPTIONAL READING

  • “Co-Active Coaching”, Fourth Edition by Henry Kimsey-House, Karen Kimsey-House, Phillip Sandahl, Laura Whitworth.

REQUIRED HOMEWORK ASSIGNMENTS

Day One

  • Take notes on the three guided inner journeys. Record a first rough draft of a Life Purpose statement.
  • Saboteur research. Answer questions in the Learning Guide to discover more about the voice and power of the saboteur. Notice at least five examples of the voice of the saboteur.
  • Explore the inquiry: What value do I need to honor more fully to be living my Life Purpose.
  • Notice images and metaphors that come to you about your Life Purpose.
  • Explore dissonance as though you are an anthropologist – observe the behavior of those around you, and your own behavior. Note in your Learning Guide at least five examples of dissonance.
  • Review elements of a Discovery Session listed in https://partners.coactive.com/CTI-learning-hub/intermediate/fulfillment and choose which you would want to include in your own Discovery Sessions.
  • Fill in the Discovery Session worksheet included in the Learning Guide.

Day Two

  • Note in your Learning Guide what you are learning about the coaching tool of discovering your Leader Within and your Appreciator.
  • Journal exploration. Answer these questions in your Learning Guide: Where in your life are you playing it safe or operating in service of maintaining the status quo? What would it take for you to truly live in alignment with your Values and be the fullest expression of your Life Purpose in all areas of your life? What would be a radical action – a rebellion against the status quo?
  • Coach a practice client. Honor a specific time commitment for the coaching and separate the coaching from socializing. At the end of the coaching ask your client the following questions:
    • What did you think about my coaching, or what feedback do you have about my coaching?
    • What do you think of coaching in general?
  • Complete your accountability around “the radical action” from the coaching you did today.

Be willing to quiet your mind to be open to the whisper of your own deep internal wisdom and also to distinguish and confront the voice of your Saboteur.

Set up a client for your practice coaching session on the evening of Day Two of your course.

Arrange your life so that you can dive in and have your attention fully on the course and the experience during your three days.

Do your homework.

After your course

Developing coaching skills is all about practicing. Here are some ways you can practice before your Balance Course:

» Choose five Powerful Questions from the examples in the  Tools section of the Learning Hub and practice using them with your clients this week.
» Enlist four people to become your practice clients. Charge them a nominal fee. Tell them you are in training to become a professional coach. Meet with them once a week for half an hour by telephone.
» Practice your Discovery Session on two people and get feedback. What did they learn about themselves from this process? What do they recommend you keep in the Discovery Session? What would they cut from it? What would they add?
